Top 3 Electric Vehicles with longest range

Top 3 Electric Vehicles with longest range

In our previous posts related to the EV industry, we have examined the stocks' performance of top EV companies, such as Tesla, Nio, or Lucid. Now it is time to look more technically at what is behind these electric cars and the first thing we would be interested in is the electric car with longest range, of course.

The range of early modern electric automobiles was nowhere close to what a tank of fuel could provide, but they had just about enough battery power to get you to work. Due to this, more people are buying electric cars and are experiencing range anxiety, which makes them concerned that they may not be able to travel on battery power to their destination or a charging station.

However, this phenomenon is rapidly declining as modern electric vehicles have greater ranges than ever before. In this list, we look at the vehicles with the biggest and best available range. Some of them have ranges that are greater than that of gasoline-powered vehicles, and rapid charging is beginning to catch on, so recharging is also quick.

While gasoline-powered cars will still be on the road for many years to come, the world is changing, and government emissions standards and environmentally conscious customers are forcing automakers to develop cutting-edge automobiles. As a result, there are an increasing number of brand-new electric vehicles.

New designs, features, and difficulties also accompany new technologies. Therefore, while having slower charge times, shorter ranges, and heavier curb weights than their gas-powered counterparts, electric vehicles still can produce rapid acceleration and, in some cases, mind-blowing power.

Although our adoration for the loud, visceral cars of today is unlikely to diminish, the range of new electric vehicles that have been introduced to the market makes it simple to be optimistic about the future.

So, let's go!

1. Lucid Air Dream

Lucid Air Dream

An electric vehicle with the 933-horsepower Dream Range specification with a range of 520 miles on a single charge. That’s more distance than the majority of gas-powered vehicles can travel after refueling, let alone EVs, which typically have a maximum range of 300 miles.

Notably, the Range model with 19-inch wheels, which was the subject of the test, is the only Lucid Air Dream specification capable of completing the 500-mile mambo. It has a 520-mile estimated EPA range. The 1,111-hp Dream Performance model, which is priced similarly, is rated at 471 miles with 19-inch wheels and 451 miles with 21s. However, if you choose to upgrade to 21-inch wheels, that number drops to 481.

Instead, Lucid’s creator and CEO, Peter Rawlinson, has won fame for his obsession with electric efficiency.

The Air also breaks the record for EV charging speed in the industry, adding up to 300 miles in just 20 minutes. The 300-kilowatt peak charging rate of this vehicle can be attributed to its 900-volt architecture (as opposed to 400 volts for Tesla's and 800 for the Porsche Taycan).

Finding a 350-kilowatt fast charger is necessary for such quick refills; these devices are only now becoming popular in America. The Lucid will add miles faster than any competitor, even on a more typical 150-kilowatt public charger.

Importantly, the Lucid has proven in real-world testing that it has a 500-mile range and above, as opposed to the Tesla, which routinely falls short. Since Rawlinson was the chief engineer on the Model S before departing Tesla, the Air’s tendency to outperform is in some respects not surprising.

Lucid Share Prices

As is typical for a growth stock, Lucid Motors Stock price has been quite volatile. It has not been an exception from the current sell-off. Nevertheless, the current price of $18 might be a good entry opportunity, as it is at an observable support level.

Let's move to the next performer!

2. Mercedes-Benz EQS 450+

Mercedes-Benz EQS 450+

The 2022 EQS, Mercedes-Benz’s first dedicated electric vehicle flagship, sets the standard for all upcoming electric Mercedes, and it mainly succeeds in doing so. Basic information and specifications of Mercedes Benz EQS as shown below. Its model number is Benz EQS 450 2022. It is made in Germany. The body type of Benz is Sedan.

The engine in this electric vehicle has a power of 329 hp and 406 ib-ft torque. It has its own charger.

The EQS feels like the next generation of electric luxury when compared to a Tesla Model S, but when compared to Mercedes-traditional Benz’s S-Class flagship, it feels like customers will need to make some concessions.

It’s understandable and you’re not mistaken if it appears that established automakers are producing an abundance of electric vehicles at once. In terms of electric automobiles, Mercedes-Benz in particular seems to have gone from zero to hero overnight. Nothing noteworthy to mention, until all of a sudden we see vehicles like the 2022 Mercedes-EQ EQS, a luxury electric sedan designed to rival the Tesla Model S.

Ola Kallenius, chairman of Mercedes, describes this phenomenon as an “S-curve” effect: first, it appears as though nothing is being done, then all of a sudden, new technology is available and everyone has it. According to Kallenius, work on the EQS began five years ago, along with a half-dozen additional EVs that Mercedes-Benz will sell in 2022.

The renowned luxury brand’s future is represented by this new Mercedes flagship vehicle. The carmaker will use this brand-new Electric Vehicle Architecture platform to build a whole array of vehicles, including the AMG EQS sedan, EQS SUV, and the soon-to-be-released EQE mid-size sedan and SUV.

The EQS450 Plus and EQS580 4Matic are a pair of high-end luxury cars that Mercedes is positioning as electric alternatives to the conventional S-Class sedan, which was itself revamped for the 2021 model year. The EQS, however, has a different goal than the S-Class because it represents the automaker’s new “progressive luxury” style, as opposed to the S-Class’ more conventional “sophisticated luxury” concept. This entails a significant increase in technology, more daring design, and a fresh mindset toward how a Mercedes-Benz should appear, feel, and function.

Mercedes Stock Price Chart

Mercedes stock had a very good post-Covid performance, however, the current crisis was merciless for it as well, as it suffered a drop from $76 down to $54. The current P/E ratio of just 2.6 is very attractive, but we have to be careful as we might expect the consumer cyclical sector to go further down in the next period.

And the last one is of course...

3. Range for Tesla Model S 2022

Range for Tesla Model S 2022

Depending on the configuration, the Model S can travel up to 405 miles on a single charge, making it Tesla’s longest-range vehicle.

Elon Musk, the company’s CEO, has frequently claimed that Tesla could extend its range even farther by packing a 120 kWh battery pack inside, but the automaker instead concentrates on increasing efficiency to do so.

The industry has now placed its own battery system in a Model S to demonstrate its own battery technology.

A test drive was conducted by the firm at an average speed of 55 mph, with a 752-mile range.

The battery system uses a nickel-cobalt-manganese cathode and a graphite anode, and its energy density is 416 Wh/L (as opposed to the previous pack’s about 245 Wh/L energy density). The pack increased the total mass of the battery (and car) by 331 kg and increased the energy by 99.8 kWh. The pack tested has a 231 Wh/kg specific energy density.

The 2022 Tesla Model S is still one of the most attractive and desirable options in that expanding market category. Additionally, it wins a slot on our list of 2022 Editors' Choices.

Depending on the model, the S's anticipated driving range can reach up to 412 miles, and its 1020 horsepower Plaid variant can provide supercar performance while accommodating four persons. With a sizable back baggage room and an additional front trunk for additional space, the Model S is extremely useful.

Last year, the Edition S underwent an exterior and interior aesthetic update that added a distinctive yoke-style steering wheel and a powerful 1020-hp Plaid performance model. We don’t anticipate many changes in 2022, although Tesla has already announced a significant price rise for the base trim.

Tesla stock now

Is Tesla stock a good buy? This is probably one of the most frequently asked questions when the discussion comes to this awesome company. There were always strong negative arguments against TSLA stock, like the overvaluation. However, the stock kept rising. It has been hit by recent events, of course, but I am sure it recover as soon as the whole situation improves.
